India is known for its mysticism. Throughout ages, Indian mystic poets have created surreal poetry, taking us into the spiritual realm and treating us with their music and words.

For instance, this is what Jim Corbett wrote in his book The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag:

In India, where there are no passports or identity discs, and where religions counts for so much- except among those few who have crossed the 'black water' -- I believe that a man wearing a saffron robe, or carrying a beggar's bowl, or with silver crosses on his headgear and chest, could walk from Khyber Pass to Cape Comorin without once being questioned about his destination, or the object of his journey.

The travel-freely part may not be true today, thanks to strict visa policies, but the point remains valid. It’s the tradition of Indian mystics travelling from place to place, sharing their teachings which truly defines the spirit of India. So, let’s celebrate some of the Indian mystic poets and read their poetry. Hence… this podcast. Hope you will enjoy it.
