A few years ago, Jordan Peterson took the world by storm. Suddenly, he was everywhere: the western intellectual world hasn’t seen this kind of sudden rise in the recent times. While on the one hand, Peterson was busy educating and guiding millions of young people around the world, he was also a part of many criticisms most of which came from the media.
Then, somewhere in 2019, he entered rehab. He was already undergoing a lot of stress in personal life after his wife was diagnosed with cancer. And he himself has struggled with clinical depression for most of his life. Since then, we have not heard much from him; only a few updates from his daughter. So, while we sit and hope that he would come back stronger, we can also spend some time reading the books which Jordan Peterson has recommended in his writing, speeches and lectures. Here is a list:
The Bible
The World’s Religions by Huston Smith
Modern Man in Search of a Soul by Carl Jung
Notes from Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche
The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Happy Reading!
