India and Pakistan have fought over Kashmir ever since these countries got independence from the British rule. Both sides present their own narrative, and then there is another one from Kashmir (as some of the Kashmiris demand a separate, independent state). While a lot of citizens on both sides of the border, charged with patriotic feelings, fail to see the complete picture, it becomes all the more important for a rational mind to see it from a historical perspective.
