In the 20th century, through many excavations and researches, it was discovered that Chinese civilisation had been there even in the Neolithic age. These villages were inhabited somewhere between 4500 BC to 3750 BC.
Just like many other civilisations in the ancient world, the Chinese civilisation also grew alongside a river – The Yellow River Valley. The villages soon led to the formations of tribes and then dynasties. One of the earliest dynasties in China was the Xia dynasty which was there around 2070 BC to 1600 BC. It was taken over by the Shang dynasty. The battles continued.
Around 1046 BC, there came the Zhou dynasty, which led to many cultural developments during its period. Intellectuals such as Confucius and Lao-Tzu were there too. The great wall of China was built over a period of many years by the successive dynasties. After the rise and fall of many such dynasties, such as Han, Tang, Song, etc China would witness the rise of Mongol Empire.
